Family Allowance after Age 16
The federal law on family allowances (FamZG) regulates the child and education allowances (formerly care allowances).
Once your child turns 16 years old, you will receive a letter from Human Resources. You are eligible for family allowance up to the age of 25 years. For this we need a current school confirmation. If we hear nothing from you we will stop paying the family allowance. More information can be found on the information sheet (German) on family allowances.
