An Introduction to the ETH Zurich for ScientistsThis event is designed to welcome you, as newly-arrived scientists, to this institution. It offers you an introduction to the ETH as a university and as an employer.

Aim:
The aims of this event, held in English, are to:

• present the organization and mission of the ETH Zurich
• to look briefly at specific topics such as the Ph.D. process
• provide an overview of ETH services

The intention is to facilitate integration into ETH culture, and to help new entrants meet each other

Target group:
All newly-employed ETH scientists

Subjects covered:

• The ETH in general: organization and mission, doctoral studies at the ETH
• ETH specifics: European research programmes, equal opportunities for women and men, Language Center of the University and the ETH Zürich, ETH Bibliothek (main library), IT Services, Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Doctoral administration, Educational Development and Technology, Security, Safety, Health and Environment, Psychological Counseling Service
  
• Association: AVETH (association of scientific staff at the ETH)
• Others: Alumni, ASVZ, Career Center
  

Contributors:

• Speakers: The President of the ETH, the Prorector for Doctoral Studies, and AVETH
• Poster presenters: various ETH service bodies and representatives of specific themes
